Our Story

At WECOE, we believe luxury is a mindset.

It lives in the feel of the materials. In the care behind every cut and stitch. In the quiet confidence of something truly well made. But above all, it lives in the reason something was made at all.

WECOE began in Berlin with Wéko, a fashion graduate turned software engineer, after years of carrying a laptop in bags that never quite worked. Too heavy. Too beautiful to be useful, or too useful to be beautiful. Like many women she knew, she settled for a backpack instead of the stylish, functional leather bag she actually wanted.

She couldn't let it go.

This devotion runs deeper than one woman's frustration. It was inherited. Wéko's mother sold leather goods and taught her early how to determine quality, knowledge that shaped everything that followed.

So she combined what she knew: a fashion degree, years reselling luxury handbags and studying every feature, and a software engineer's instinct for solving real problems. She brought her vision to life: premium leather handbags designed in Berlin for women who have always known the difference.

The Name

WECOE (Wei-Ko) is a study in balance.
Wei is the rose: a bloom shaped by quiet strength and layered beauty. Ko is character: the presence and individuality that sets one genuinely apart. Together, they form a name rooted in the belief that grace and resilience are one and the same.

The Mark
Our logo, a pair of intertwined Ws, draws inspiration from the ancient symmetry of Celtic knotwork. It is a continuous line, tracing a path with no beginning and no end. It is a tribute to the journey: the idea that everything we carry forward is shaped by everywhere we have been.

The Founder

Wéko Tsai studied fashion design at the University of Edinburgh before following her voice into a professional singing career and eventually pivoting into software engineering. These three disciplines appear unrelated until you see what they share. They require an obsession with getting things right, a sensitivity to detail, and the discipline to keep working until something truly works.

The result is a design eye sharpened by an engineering mindset. In this world, beauty and function are not a compromise but a starting point. This is the thinking behind every WECOE bag.

Heritage Craftsmanship

Starting in 2026, our new collection will be crafted by a small team of master artisans with over 40 years of experience in creating premium handbags. This deliberate choice honours traditional heritage and ensures every piece is made with exceptional quality and lasting durability - the standard our customers deserve.
